 -"Viva La Vida" Santiago Gym-
(A STORY ABOUT MY PERSONAL TRAINER AND ENTER MY GYM BELOW)
There was a time in my life where I was terribly ill and became very weak because of the illness, medications, and was in so much pain, I couldn't even muster up the desire to exercise! Part of my anxt with exercise was also because I had gained so much weight, because of the meds and illness that it wasn't fun to do the things I liked like skiing, playing tennis, walking anymore - part shame, but mainly because I was in pain....pain in my heart (emotionally) and also physically.
 
 So, I decided time ago, since I didn't have the cash for a personal trainer or paying some dues a the local gym, and just plain 'ole didn't know where to start, I would read God's word and learn from it. Pretty sad eh? that should have been the first resort, not the last! Anyway, got over myself and went to task... and found that various life stories of characters in the Bible were really encouraging and a wealth of training.. like Deborah, Esther, Joshua, Moses and many more...
 
I began to read more about how David danced before the Lord - he was in rotten situations, people against him, he messed up lots, but also he was an 'artistic' type who felt deeply (hmmm...sounds familiar???).
 
Well, I began to see how he cried before God and also he sang, played his instrument and danced in worship to Him! He also put in God's hands all his hurts, the betrayal, repented for sin and MOVED ON!!!
 
So, I decided to learn a few things from 'ole DAVID the Psalms - and as it were, the man after God's own heart became one my PERSONAL TRAINERS - (read Psalm 40:1-3) and I just had enough of being in the 'pit' of many things in life, repent for my junk, forgive those that hurt me start thanking and praising God for everything.  

 

So, as simple as that is, I would just put on music and dance before God.
Yes folks, I did this everyday.
I found my desire to eat the wrong things started curbing and I wanted healthier food. I also found as I danced before God, the pain in my joints and feet went away. Everyday I had more strength and stamina....then I started to notice the the extra pounds shed. Now my friends, this wasn't 5 or 10 pounds...this was much much more...to the point that I dropped over 10 dress sizes! So, that is my story...simple, yet works. While I am not in the season I was in before where I was overcoming a life-threatening illness, 'cause now I am completely healed - Praise God! - I still excercise because God asks me to take care of what he created. Also, I've got lots to accomplish for His Kingdom, travel lots and my schedule is really demanding, so I have to be healthy for it. BTW, excercise is an awesome stress releaser and you'll sleep better!
Now, you may read this and say
 - "Claudia, I love it, totally get it...BUT THERE'S NO WAY I gonna dance around the house!" -
 
Well, mis amigos(as), it's like this:
you don't have to do it this way, you can take 30 min of your day - go golfing, grab your i-pod & go for a walk, ride your bike, put on your disco wig and go roller blading (hahaa).... crank on other tunes that you love and do some floor excercises, treadmill, weights - whatever you do, enjoy it, have fun.
The thing you don't want to do is be so busy (or lazy - ooops did I say that!!!??? LOL) that you do NOTHING!
So there's my challenge to you...
